VK provides sustainable and low-energy solutions for a wide range of distribution companies, most of which serve as storage facilities for food, non-food and fresh-daily food activities.
Low-energy solutions
The new distribution centre, Lidl Heerenveen, has various eco-friendly and low-energy solutions incorporated into its design. There is no gas connection, for example, and residual heat from the cooling units is used for underfloor heating. In addition, materials with high insulation value and eco-friendly coolants for refrigeration are used. Finally, the building is constructed so that it can be equipped with solar panels in the future.
BREEAM: Very Good
Lidl designed the distribution centre in Heerenveen according to the BREEAM principle and has achieved a Very Good status for this phase.
